Tips on How To Beat Giovanni on Pokemon Go- Best Counters

Team Go Rocket leaders have been released with a special research quest this time. Giovanni has been considered the strongest leader ever arrived in Team Go Rocket. It has quite some powerful pokemon to keep you scrambled.

How to Approach?

Before you target Giovanni, You will have to face the Team Go Rocket executives starting with James and Jessie, then Cliff, Sierra, and Arlo with your existing Rocket Radars. Rocket radars can be created by tackling grunts. Six grunts which will come disguised are to be battled and defeated for creating a single rocket radar.  If you have sufficient Poke coins, save up some time, and buy those rocket radars.

After defeating the executives, you will receive the super Rocket Radar that will help you navigate Giovanni, the boss.

Make sure your team is strong enough to put up a challenge. All your strong pokemon must heal completely to be ready for the battle. A win against Giovanni would not only earn you rewards, but you will also gain a legendary shadow pokemon.

Recognizing your opponent’s moves before charging them is essential if you take the game seriously. We have put forward information on the most likely Pokemons to be used by Giovanni this July, who is yet to reveal himself by the way. Next, we commended the best counters that you may use against them.

  • In 1st Face Off, you will surely see Persian. This beast is always the first pokemon for Giovanni. It is a cat pokemon with Normal, Dark, and Rock moves. It has poor attack stats, so any pokemon with a strong fight suit will do the job. It is the weakest one of the rest. So defeating this one should be easy.

Counters: Machamp, Lucario, Poliwrath, and Blaziken

  • In 2nd Face-Off, you might have to put fight against Kingler, Steelix, or Rhyperior. Giovanni could bring out any of these. Kingler, a Water-type Pokemon, is weak against Grass and Electricity. Steelix could be won over only by Excadrill, a Ground-type. A strong Water-type pokemon will be needed to beat off Rhyperior. All in all, it would be useful to keep pokemon with strong suits in Fire, Ground, and Water-type for the second face-off.

Counters: Excadrill, Venasau r, and Kyogre

  • 3rd Face-Off, the ultimate showdown will be with Entei or Suicune in Shadow forms. A tough Water or Ground-type pokemon must be preserved for the third round if you want to beat Entei. Suicune, a Water-type is the legendary pokemon. You will need a powerful opponent for this one in Grass or electric types. Raikou, Electivire, and Mew could give a tough fight.

Counters: Swampert, Kyogre, Vaporean, Raikou, Mew, and Rhyperiors.

So now you know his moves. Hoping the above tips will help you beat this bad guy out and win your ultimate legendary shadow pokemon.
